I became interested in studying religion in online spaces after observing the motivation and compassion with which content creators share their beliefs digitally. The time, emotional labor, and care invested in this work—often met with intense public backlash—led me to reflect on the broader stakes of these practices.
In „Digital Christianities“ I examine how forms of religious expression shape communities beyond the screen. Drawing on key debates in the study of Digital Religion, I focus on the intersections of online and offline religious life. I ask how content creators’ practices shape institutional structures and are embedded in everyday life.
By addressing these questions, the project offers insight into how digital religion shapes community formation and social organization.
